Mission & Vision

A Call To Serve Ministries of Iowa (ACTS) connects those who need assistance with those willing to lend a hand.   Through volunteering our time and talents we model God's love, build stronger Christian relationships, and promote servant leadership in our communities.

Biblical Foundations

Acts 3:6- Silver and gold I have none, but such as I have, I give thee.

1 Peter 4:10- As each one has received a special gift,employ it in serving one another.

Objectives

ACTS Ministries utilizes short-term, local projects to provide opportunities for those interested serving others through the work of their hands. By collecting information on our volunteer's skills and interests, we match the team members with the "right" projects.

Results

Since May of 2006, ACTS Ministries has completed over 320 projects in 16 Iowa communities. Our volunteers have donated over 7950 hours back to the community, and have provided assistance in the areas of home repair, maintenance, and renovation, as well as landscaping, brush clearing, home moving, and disaster response.

ACTS has also completed 3 Service Surge events in the communities of Ottumwa and Knoxville. These events have brought together over 500 volunteers to make big changes in these communities in a short amount of time. ACTS offers two Surge events annually in the Sping and the Fall.
